You should only have to increase the boiler pressure once or twice a year. But, if your boiler keeps losing pressure this could mean that the water from the system is leaking. Please always contact a Gas Safe engineer to repair the boiler if you spot a leak – you can find an engineer near you with Gas Safe’s – Find An Engineer Tool.

Despite the pressure reducing valve, owners should be familiar with the standard PSI of their hot water boiler system and should check the pressure reading regularly. Standard Cold Operating Pressure The standard cold water operating pressure of most U.S. and Canadian hot water boilers is 12 pounds per square inch (psi).
Author: steven lavimoniere Dec 17, 2018· Turn the gas valve and boiler on/off electrical switch back on. When the boiler fires, how much does the gas pressure drop? Verify that does not drop more than 2” w.c. Next, check the O 2 reading at high fire. The boiler may be temporarily locked into high fire as follows: From the home screen, press “ADJUST” to enter the adjust menu.
Feb 11, 2013· I had my (1400s sq ft; 2 floor) house reviewed for energy efficiency recently. The guy stuck a probe in the flue of my oil boiler and gas water heater. He showed me Carbon Monoxide levels from the water heater was reading 10ppm and the boiler was 340ppm. He said the boiler was way over the acceptable level (100ppm) and I should call someone for a tune up.
Feb 25, 2020· If you’ve checked the gas control valve and it’s open, keep reading. Potential Issue #3: The ignition source isn’t working The next step in troubleshooting your boiler is to check the ignition system. Gas boilers have one of two ignition system types: a standing pilot ignition system or an electronic ignition system.
The reading on the combustion analyzer will display the oxygen percentage as a percent of the total flue gas volume. For instance, a reading of 4% O2 means oxygen comprises 4% of the volume of flue gases. A typical reading would be 2% to 6% (see Figure 2). I like adjusting the air for the middle of the acceptable range in case the blower wheel
Author: Solution Based What pressure should my boiler be? Generally, your boiler pressure should be between 1 and 2 bar. However, read your boiler’s manual or ask your heating engineer for the required pressure for your particular model. To check your boiler’s pressure, you need to locate the pressure gauge on your boiler.
May 29, 2019· Photo: The gas jets inside a boiler fire up to heat the water. Natural gas burns blue when it has the right amount of oxygen. If it burns yellow, there's not enough oxygen and your boiler may be creating a dangerous, toxic gas called carbon monoxide. That's why you should always have a carbon monoxide detector somewhere near a gas boiler.
Author: Ray Wohlfarth The boiler I started talking about earlier had a manifold gas pressure twice the recommended value. There was too much combustion air due to a lack of understanding and/or measurement. Since he took the readings, I doubt it was the latter.
